Students at Kings Monkton School were in for a surprise on World Book Day when local author, C.C. Brampton payed them a visit dressed in a superhero costume resembling the protagonist character of his latest children's book cover.

Brampton had been invited to the school by the head librarian teacher, Alison King to give a talk to the year five and six students about the writing process behind the successful story, Charlie Robonik, among other things. While speaking, Brampton was committed to sharing his inside knowledge and ideas as a writer, and the founding principles that he stands by in order for the children to become a stronger writers.

Effective writing teachers like Brampton dressed up as cosplay, provide direct instruction in the various components of the writing process. He encourages children’s understanding of these processes through discussion, demonstration and sharing examples he has written himself.

Finally, the Welsh author’s ultimate goal is for children to flourish as writers themselves and develop their preferred writing process. This is better showed by employing Superhero Costume, which almost all children love.
